About the Role
We are seeking a Financial Analyst who is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning budgeting, expense monitoring, financial planning processes. You will partner closely with the Financial Controller and department leaders to ensure financial clarity, cost efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the organization to help shape TalentPop’s scalability and long-term growth objectives. Responsibilities
Expense Management & Cost Control
- Monitor company-wide spending, track utilization vs. budget, and perform detailed variance analyses with actionable recommendations.
- Partner with department heads to review actual v. targets on spend utilization, identify inefficiencies, and surface cost-optimization opportunities backed by data..
- Monitor spending trends, vendor costs, and expense allocation accuracy.
- Support spend governance by maintaining vendor data, monitoring recurring commitments, and improving spend visibility across departments.
Budgeting & Financial Planning (Internal Focus)
- Support the Financial Controller in the annual budgeting process, quarterly forecasting cycles, and creation of multi-scenario financial plans.
- Collect and validate budget assumptions across all departments.
- Maintain financial models that link operational data (sales, payroll, placements) to financial performance.
- Prepare monthly reporting packages - including P&L insights, departmental spend summaries, and KPI trends for leadership review.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness by maintaining standardized reporting processes and documentation.
Strategic FP&A & Decision Support
- Perform recurring variance analysis across revenue, cost of delivery, payroll, operating expenses, and margins to highlight performance drivers.
- Create dashboards, forecast views, and automated templates that provide department leaders with real-time financial insights.
- Support audit preparation, compliance, and internal controls, ensuring reporting aligns with U.S. GAAP/IFRS standards.
- Partner with Finance and Workforce teams to support projections tied to headcount growth, revenue recognition, and team operational costs.
- Assist in building financial frameworks for new service lines, pricing initiatives, or operating model changes as TalentPop scales.

Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, or budgeting.
- Strong understanding of the standard accounting cycle and U.S. GAAP/IFRS.
- Proven ability to build and maintain financial forecast models.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency (complex formulas, pivots, arrays).
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and financial data integrity.
- Experience in service-based or outsourcing environments is a plus.
Internet Requirements
- DSL, Cable, or Fiber internet connection is required - LAN connection required (20 mbps minimum)
- Backup internet connection is required (5 Mbps minimum)
Hardware Requirements
- Laptop/Desktop with a Minimum Core i5 or Ryzen 5 with at least 8GB RAM or equivalent system specifications
- Desktop/Laptop PC only (no tablets or smartphones allowed for working tools)
Power Requirements
- Must have a reliable power source with minimal power outages
- Having a backup power source is also highly recommended (e.g generator, Portable power station)
- Having a backup location you can go to during a power outage (family member’s house, friend’s house, internet cafe, or a co-working space) is required for all TalentPop Team members
