About the Role

Your mission as a Senior Financial Analyst at TalentPop is to play a key role in driving financial clarity, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making across TalentPop’s Finance and Recruitment functions. This individual is a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Workforce & Headcount Planning (Internal)

  • Partner with the Financial Controller to analyze labor utilization, productivity, and efficiency metrics across teams to identify capacity gaps and optimization opportunities.
  • Maintain a dynamic workforce model to ensure TalentPop’s Recruitment team (and related delivery/support teams) are properly resourced to meet application volume, client demand, and growth projections.
  • Establish weekly, monthly, and quarterly hiring targets in partnership with Recruitment and Finance.
  • Ensure alignment between hiring forecasts and headcount/labor cost models to maintain consistency between operational staffing and GAAP-based financial projections.

External Headcount Planning & Analysis

  • Maintain recruitment demand models that forecast client hiring needs based on client growth, turnover, historical fill rates, and fulfillment trends (planned hires, attrition, replacements, and promotions).
  • Monitor and analyze key recruitment metrics, including application volume, pass/fail rates, interview-to-hire ratios, and time-to-fill.
  • Track pipeline sufficiency to determine how many applications and interviews are required to achieve client hiring goals each period.
  • Model client demand into staffing forecasts, showing expected headcount by client, role, and start date; integrate with Finance to align projected placements to recognized revenue and payroll.

Expense Management & Cost Control

  • Work with the Financial Controller to track company-wide spending and provide actionable variance analyses against budget and forecast.
  • Partner with department heads to review budget utilization and implement cost optimization initiatives.
  • Identify spending trends, potential savings, and efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Support vendor management, spend allocation accuracy, and expense forecasting.

General Financial Planning & Forecasting

  • Assist with annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes by collecting inputs, validating assumptions, and analyzing trends.
  • Maintain and refine forecasting models linking operational data (sales, headcount, utilization) to financial outcomes.
  • Conduct monthly variance analyses and prepare insights for leadership to drive data-informed decision-making.
  • Ensure financial data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness across all reporting processes.

Ideal Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, business analysis, or workforce planning
  • 5+ years of experience with the standard accounting cycle and IFRS/U.S. GAAP
  • Experience within outsourcing, call center/BPO, or high-volume recruiting environments is a plus but not required
  • Proven track record of building or maintaining financial forecast models that integrate operational metrics (e.g., headcount, utilization, recruiting throughput)

Qualifications

Skills

  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets proficiency (complex formulas, pivot tables, array functions)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience analyzing trends in revenue, expenses, and hiring performance
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and data integrity

Internet Requirements

  • DSL, Cable, or Fiber internet connection is required - LAN connection required (20 mbps minimum)
  • Backup internet connection is required (5 Mbps minimum)

Hardware Requirements

  • Laptop/Desktop with a Minimum Core i5 or Ryzen 5 with at least 8GB RAM or equivalent system specifications
  • Desktop/Laptop PC only (no tablets or smartphones allowed for working tools)

Power Requirements

  • Must have a reliable power source with minimal power outages
  • Having a backup power source is also highly recommended (e.g generator, Portable power station)
  • Having a backup location you can go to during a power outage (family member’s house, friend’s house, internet cafe, or a co-working space) is required for all TalentPop Team members
